Anything on ps3 network that is like an xbox live voice party?

so i just got a ps3 a few months ago and usually play my xbox. i finallllyyyyyyy got a bluetooth headset for ps3. If you have ever played xbox gold for a day you 99.9% will know what an xbox live party is. You know how on parties you can talk to ppl in anygame/dashboard? is their away to do that on psn w/out using a camera sitting on the dashboard thing (idk what its called on ps3) or being in the same game cuz my only friend (lol) on psn just got a mic also and he has none of the games i have besides assassins creed 2 which is Singleplayer only i believe, nor does he have a camera something simaler to a party/private chat with voice is what i want, also that is cross game. answer plz.

All there is currently is a Text Chat feature, which allows you to chat with a total of 48 people at once across any game at any game.

As for voice, there is PlayStation Home. It has a “Gamelaunch” feature. As an example, you might have a few friends over in your personal space just hanging out and talking about games. At any time, you can pop in any game, set up the launch settings and launch into any game as a group. It’s very helpful if you use Home the way you want to.

For example, my clan usually goes in there some days during vacation as a group. We play a few mini-games together and eventually launch into Killzone 2, Warhawk, MW2 or anything else.

The ability to chat with friends over different games at any time should be implemented sometime this year. Fans have spoken and it is, by far, the most requested feature since In-Game XMB access. They’re now under pressure to add it ASAP, especially with the newfound success of the PS3 since it’s redesign.
