Zen CG555

The Zen CG555 is a basic phone with good music features. It has smooth round edges, which makes it comfortable to hold. This dual SIM phone is also a dual band device i.e. it supports both GSM and CDMA connections simultaneously. The CG555 comes with a 1.7-inch bright and sharp screen. On the homescreen SIM1 is displayed for CDMA while SIM2 is for the GSM network. The D-pad works as a dedicated music player control apart from also being the four-way navigation. The left key of the D-pad opens the SMS menu, the top key opens the music player, the right one opens Bluetooth while the bottom key opens a new SMS. The keys are soft and easy to use.

A metal finish rim runs along the front panel along with a rim highlighting the D-pad and the centre column of the alpha-numeric keypad. The phone has just one hard key on the side — a volume rocker on the left. The back panel has 1.3-megapixel camera with a speaker grill on its right.

Features Galore

The CG555 comes with a Yamaha chipset for processing music. The dual SIM phone is aimed at entry-level consumers and offers them a good music experience. The sound quality of the MP3 player and FM radio is decent and so is the radio reception. The device comes with a 3.5 mm jack.

The features also include Internet browser that is simple to use. It also has an e-book reader, for those who love to read on the go. The 1.3-megapixel camera clicks pictures of decent quality and the video recording quality is also decent. The video camera comes with some effect settings and the length of the video depends on the capacity of the memory card. The phone’s memory can be expanded up to 4 GB.

The CG555 gives a decent battery backup. A single charge lasts almost three days with average listening to music and average making and receiving calls. The CDMA and GSM signals work very well and switching between the networks is swift. The Bluetooth transfers are also quite fast.

Overall, this is a decent phone with an excellent battery, large storage space and good speakers.
